About the Project
Shop Local Port Moody is a community initiative led by the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce, aiming to support local small businesses through storytelling, event promotion, and digital engagement. The campaign highlights independent shops, encourages local shopping habits, and builds stronger connections between residents and business owners.
My Role
As a marketing intern, I contributed to the campaign’s digital presence through social media content, design, and community engagement. My work focused on making local stories visible, accessible, and relevant across platforms.
What I Did
- Managed the official social media accounts to maintain activity and engagement
- Created visual and written content including Reels, graphics, and captions
- Visited member businesses to shoot and edit short-form promotional videos
- Developed the social media strategy
- Designed flyers and invitations for the program
- Promoted local deals and gift ideas for holidays such as Valentine’s Day
- Contributed to the business directory and event preparation
- Created newsletter to current SLPM members
- Helped increase account reach by over 200% during the campaign period
